Cozy Home Décor: Creating Woven Wall Art with Tie Dye

Supplies Needed:

Tulip One-Step Tie Dye Refills Color Wheel 30-Pack

White or light-colored doilies and rattan décor

Plastic tub (large enough to fit your project)

Protective surface cover

Protective gloves

Spoon

Plastic wrap or sealable plastic bag

Step 1: Prepare the dye bath

Cover your work area with a protective surface cover. Pour water into a container large enough to fit your woven wall art, add your desired dye powder color, and stir until completely dissolved. Use 4 ounces of water per packet of dye powder for saturated, full-strength color, or add more water as desired to create softer pastel shades.

Step 2: Submerge the woven wall art into dye bath

Remember to wear gloves when working with Tulip One-Step Dyes. Submerge the woven wall art into the dye bath, ensuring the fibers are completely saturated. 

Step 3: Remove woven wall art from dye bath and let set

Carefully remove the woven wall art from your dye bath, then wrap in plastic wrap or place into a sealable plastic bag. Allow the dye to set for 6-8 hours or overnight for most vibrant results. 

Step 4: Wash, dry, and display your dyed woven wall art!    

Rinse the dyed doilies and rattan décor in cool water, hand wash with a small amount of laundry detergent, then lay flat to dry. Once dry, your woven wall art is ready to display!
