DIY Holiday Sweater Series: Christmas Lights

DIY Holiday Sweater Series: Christmas Lights

Looking for a fun way to add Christmas cheer to your seasonal wardrobe? Tulip’s got you covered with our Christmas lights holiday sweater! This colorful project uses the Tulip Merry & Bright Fabric Paint Kit for a playful Christmas palette that will surely light up your holidays!

Supplies Needed:

Tulip Merry & Bright Fabric Paint Kit

Gildan crewneck sweatshirt

Christmas Lights printable stencil and tape (optional)

Step 1: Prepare holiday sweater for painting

Lay holiday sweater flat and prepare for painting

Lay your holiday sweater flat on your work surface. Insert cardboard or a sheet of plastic between layers to prevent paint from seeping through.

Step 2: Apply fabric paint to holiday sweater

If using a stencil, place flat onto sweater in desired position and tape into place. Apply fabric paint through the stencil to create your Christmas lights design. For this DIY holiday sweater, we’re using green Puff Paint for the Christmas lights string and an assortment of Brush-On Fabric Paint colors for the light bulbs. If desired, Puff Paint can be used to outline the bulbs. Try making your Christmas lights sweater twinkle by pressing a few gems or glitter into the wet Puff Paint!

Step 3: Let dry and enjoy!

Carefully remove the stencil and allow the paint to dry completely. Once the paint has dried, your holiday sweater is ready to wear! Your DIY holiday sweater can be hand washed (inside out) and line dried after 72 hours.
