DIY Custom Ombre Shoes
Maybe you can't seem to find the perfect pair of running shoes to match your style, or maybe the pair you just got not all that long ago is already getting dingy ... Either way, it's easy to give a pair of kicks a colorful makeover with Tulip® ColorShot® Instant Fabric Color! Read on to see how simple it is to achieve this pretty ombre spray look in your favorite color palette.
What you need:
- Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Color - at least 2 colors of choice
- Masking tape
- Plastic surface cover
- Paper towels
First choose your ColorShot color palette. Tip: Choose colors that blend together nicely and won't turn brown or "muddy" looking when the sprays overlap.
Remove laces and tape off all of the areas on the shoes that you don't want colored with spray paint (soles, emblems, etc.). Scrunch up paper towels and place inside shoes to protect from spray. Make sure you are in a well-ventilated area and cover your work surface to protect from overspray.
Spray the first ColorShot color onto shoe. Tip: Spray several light coats until desired coverage is achieved, letting dry between coats.
Spray the next color onto the remainder of shoe, blending some of the second color into the first as you spray to achieve an ombre look.
Before paint completely dries, remove tape from masked areas. Let dry completely and wait at least 72 hours before washing.
Put on those fancy new kicks and take them for a run!
