Elegant Swirl Ornaments
That box of ornaments you bought last year still gathering dust in the garage? Turn them into elegant, colorful glass ornaments using Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint!
What you need:
Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint - Royal Blue
Glass Ornaments
Bamboo Skewers
Foam sheet to stick the skewers into
Ribbon (optional)
Carefully remove the metal topper from the glass ornament. Keep this handy - you’ll need to replace it after the paint is dry so you can hang the ornament.
Holding the glass ornament in your hand, start drawing swirls all over the ornament using Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint. I like to start at the opening in the glass, where I removed the metal topper.
Once you’ve covered about half of the glass ornament with paint swirls, it gets trickier to hold the ornament. Stick a bamboo skewer into a sheet of craft foam and slip the ornament onto the skewer.
Continue adding paint swirls until the entire ornament is covered.
Allow the ornament to dry for at least an hour before handling. Insert the metal topper into the top of the of the ornament. Tie a ribbon in a bow to the wire loop sticking out of the top of the topper. Then add a wire ornament hook and display on the tree.
You can make sets of these in a single color, in multiple colors, or make the swirls on the one ornament with various colors of paint.
