Read My Lips T-shirt
This isn't lip service ... we're all about IN YOUR FACE COLOR this summer! Pool parties, road trips and even catching a flick with friends require outfits that are hotter than the temps outside - the bolder the better! But no need to spend a fortune on head-turning looks; save your cash for summer festivities and check out this super easy lips T-shirt tutorial.
What you need:
-Tulip® ColorShot Instant Fabric Color™
-Neon Orange
-Pink
-Purple
-Tulip® Textile Stencil
-Lips
-Aleene's® Repositionable Tacky Spray
-White cotton fitted T-shirt
-Cardboard or heavy paper
-Painter's tape
-Paper towels
-Disposable plastic tablecloth
Before you start, make sure to wash and dry your shirt (without fabric softener) to prep it for painting! Then lay it out flat on a covered work surface and decide where you want to place the lips stencil. You might just want one design like the on the shirt we made, or to cover your shirt in lips - it's totally up to you!
Spray a light coat of spray adhesive on the back of the stencil and press in place on your shirt. Don't forget to insert a piece of cardboard or heavy cardstock inside of your shirt to protect the backside from paint seeping through!
Tape paper towels around the stencil to protect the rest of the shirt from potential overspray. Then spray on the first color, working with several light coats of spray rather than one heavy coat. Make sure you are working in a well-ventilated area - open those windows and turn on fans if you are inside!
Spray additional colors, blending into the others. When you're finished, remove the paper towels and stencil, and let your project dry completely!
Here's lookin' at you kid!
