Shimmer Heart Tie-Dye Tee

It's easy to wear your heart on your tee when it looks this good! Let your love of fashion shine with a tie-dye tee that's totally tricked out with glitter galore. Read on for the tutorial! 

Wash your T-shirt to remove the sizing from the fabric (it can prevent the dye from fully soaking into the fabric, so this is a very important step!). Remove your damp shirt from the washing machine and lay it out flat on your covered work surface. Using a washable marker, create diagonal lines across the front of your shirt. (Don't worry, the ink will wash out!)

Pleat the shirt fabric along each of the lines and bind with rubber bands from the kit.

Mix up the Turquoise and Blue dyes according to the package instructions, then squeeze Turquoise dye on one side of each of the rubber bands as shown.

Squeeze Blue dye onto the remaining sections next to the rubber bands. Cover your shirt with plastic (or put in a zipper bag) and let set for the recommended time. Then rinse, wash and dry your shirt according to the instructions.

Create a heart on a piece of freezer paper and cut out to create a stencil. Iron it onto the front of your shirt to temporarily hold it in place. Insert another piece of freezer paper or cardboard inside of your dry shirt to prevent glue seeping through to the backside. Working in small sections at a time, dab Glitter Bond onto the shirt inside of the heart stencil.

Immediately sprinkle silver glitter onto the adhesive while it is still wet.

Continue the process until the entire heart is covered in glitter. Then remove the stencil and let your shirt dry completely before wearing.
