Supplies Needed:
Tulip The Rainbow Box Brush-On Fabric Paint
White 100% cotton T-shirts
Cutting machine
Scissors
Freezer paper
Iron
Foam paint brush
Disposable plate
Step 1: Design your stencil
Use an electronic cutting machine to create stencils for your mommy and me shirts on freezer paper. You’ll need two stencils of your chosen design: one to fit an adult-sized shirt, and one to fit a kid-sized shirt. For this project, Ivy Pink Made is using a word art design to create the perfect Thanksgiving outfit!
Step 2: Place stencil and iron to set
Preheat your iron to low heat, no steam. Place the freezer paper stencil shiny-side down onto the T-shirt in your desired position, then iron to set it into place. Repeat with the second stencil and T-shirt to prepare your custom mommy and me shirts for painting.
Step 3: Apply fabric paint
Pour a small amount of your desired fabric paint colors onto a disposable plate. Try mixing paints to create custom colors for an extra unique mommy and me Thanksgiving outfit!
Dip a foam paint brush into one color, then apply the paint onto the T-shirt over the stencil in a dabbing motion. Be sure to clean your brush when switching paints to avoid muddying colors.
Step 4: Let dry and enjoy!
Once the fabric paint has dried completely, remove the stencils and enjoy! These mommy and me shirts can be worn all autumn long, and make the perfect matching Thanksgiving outfits too!
