What you need:
- Tulip Tie-Dye Fashion Kit
- Disposable plastic surface cover
- Wire rack (optional)
- Sealable plastic bags
Your Tie-Dye Fashion Kit comes with pretty much everything you need right in the box! Prep your work surface with a disposable plastic surface cover, and make sure you pre-wash your cotton accessories (without fabric softener) before dyeing. Leave them damp (unless you won't be dyeing them until later, in which case, make sure to damped before tie dyeing).
To create a striped headband like shown here, see the following steps.
Wrap 3 to 4 evenly spaced rubber bands around the damp headband, depending on how many dye colors you want to use.
Mix your dyes according to the kit instructions, then place your bound headband on a wire rack (optional) to help prevent pooling of dye underneath the headband. You can apply dye colors as shown with the rubber bands in the center of each color, or you can apply the dye colors between each rubber band. It's completely up to you! Don't forget to rotate the headband to apply the dyes to the sides and back side as well. Once you've finished applying dyes, place it in a sealed bag to keep damp while the dye sets for 6 to 8 hours or overnight.
To create a spotted tie-dye scrunchie like shown, see the next step!
You can also try binding your scrunchie with rubber bands if you'd like, or freestyle it with random dots of dye everywhere! Flip over and repeat on the backside, then place in its own sealed bag to keep damp while the dye sets.
To add cool tie-dye stripes to your scarf, check out the following steps!
First fold your damp scarf into quarters.
Wrap rubber bands evenly spaced along the length of the folded scarf.
Add desired dye colors to each bound section, making sure to rotate scarf so you apply dye to all sides. Place the dyed scarf in a sealable bag to keep damp while the dye processes.
Are you ready to rock your fab new tie-dye fashion accessories?!
