How To Use
x- Prewash denim without fabric softener.
- Place damp unfolded fabric into the washing machine drum.
- Open the bag of dye powder and pour the dye on top of the denim.
- Pour salt evenly on the denim.
- Select the 2-hour wash cycle option with hot water or bacteria/mite removal setting.
- When cycle is complete, add washing detergent and run another cycle (normal wash cycle, room temperature water).
- Remove denim, add detergent, and run empty cycle to remove any remaining traces of dye.
- Lay denim flat to dry.
Tips & Tricks
x- Works best on 100& cotton denim, blends may dye to a slightly lighter shade.
- Recommended for use with High Efficiency (HE) washing machines only. Regular washers will result in lighter shades.
- Do not scrunch projects; place unfolded fabric in washer with dye.
- Refer to Darkness Scale to determine the amount of dye needed for desired results.
- Wear protective gloves while handling dye
- Only dye up to half of machine’s maximum load to avoid patchy results.
- After dyeing, wash separately or with similar colors for first few washes.
- Should any dye remain in the machine, run another empty cycle with detergent and half cup of household bleach in the drum.
- Dry fabric away from direct heat and sunlight
