Supplies Needed:
Tulip Puff Paint Essentials 10-Pack
Felt, assorted colors
Polyester fiber fill stuffing
Cutting machine or scissors
Sewing machine or needle and thread
String
Step 1: Cut DIY Christmas ornament shapes from felt
Use a cutting machine or scissors to cut your custom DIY Christmas ornament shapes from felt. You’ll need two of each shape to make one felt ornament. For this project, Ally Blaire is making sweater, bauble, and stocking shaped ornaments.
Step 2: Sew and stuff the DIY Christmas ornaments
Use a sewing machine or a needle and thread to stitch the edges of the two felt ornament shapes together, leaving a small opening on the top. Fill your DIY Christmas ornament with polyester fiber fill stuffing, insert a loop of string for hanging, and sew shut.
Pro tip: If you don’t know how to sew, try using Aleene’s Felt & Foam Tacky Glue for this project! For best results, allow the glue to dry completely before stuffing your ornaments.
Step 3: Decorate the DIY Christmas ornaments with Puff Paint
Once all your felt ornaments are assembled, you can begin decorating! Puff Paint is perfect for creating colorful, custom designs with a playful 3D texture. Once you’re done decorating your DIY Christmas ornaments, allow the paint to dry completely.
Step 4: Display your DIY Christmas ornaments!
Once the paint has dried, your DIY Christmas ornaments are ready to display. Hang them on your tree and admire your one-of-a-kind felt ornaments!
