Works Best on 100% Natural Fiber Fabrics

Most brands of fabric dye work best on 100% natural fiber fabrics unless specially formulated for synthetic fabrics. Why is this? Fabrics made from natural materials like cotton, rayon and silk, more easily absorb dye pigments, adopting the properties of the dyes as their own (therefore changing the color of the item you are dyeing to the color you apply). Synthetic fabrics, because they are manmade and have a different chemical makeup than natural materials, require a much more intensive, different process for absorbing dye.

Tulip Permanent Fabric Dyes are formulated to work best on natural-fiber fabrics, especially cotton, linen, ramie and rayon; silk, wool and polyester/cotton mixes dye to lighter shades.
