Just Add Color with Tulip Tie-Dye Kits

Use Tulip tie-dye kits to make your fabrics pop with bold color! Whether you’re tie dyeing T-shirts at a birthday party or giving your favorite pair of jeans a colorful new life, Tulip One-Step Tie Dye and our tie-dye craft supplies are designed to make your tie-dye experiences easy with vibrant results.

The Easiest Way to Tie Dye

People of all ages can’t help but love the magic of making their very own Tulip tie-dye creations; from the incredibly bright colors that pop with personality to the excitement of the reveal, there’s a reason that Tulip One-Step Tie Dye was voted America’s Favorite. The easy-to-use, one-step process eliminates the need to presoak fabrics in soda ash - just add water to the dye bottles, shake and apply for intense color that lasts wash after wash. Twist, scrunch and bind your way to all kinds of awesomeness with Tulip!

Why Do We Call It One-Step Tie-Dye Kits?

Traditional tie dye requires you to soak your fabrics in soda ash to help “open” the fabric fibers prior to dyeing so they absorb more dye and create a more vibrant tie-dye experience. Tulip One-Step Tie Dye has soda ash mixed into the dye powder already, so all you need to do is add water to the pre-packaged dye bottles and shake it to mix before applying. It really is that easy! We do recommend washing your fabrics prior to dyeing (without fabric softener) since most new fabrics are coated with a chemical called “sizing” that can restrict proper dye absorption.

Do Tie-Dye Kits Work on All Fabrics?

All brands of tie dye work best on 100% natural fiber fabrics unless specially formulated for synthetic fabrics. Why is this? Fabrics made from natural materials like cotton, rayon and silk, more easily absorb dye pigments, adopting the properties of the dyes as their own, and therefore changing the color of the item you are tie dyeing to the color you apply. Synthetic fabrics, because they are manmade and have a different chemical makeup than natural materials, require a much more intensive process for absorbing dye. Tulip One-Step Dyes are formulated to work best on natural-fiber fabrics.

Can I Machine Wash my New Tie-Dye Designs?

We might need to hand wash some of our clothing, but our tie-dye T-shirts shouldn’t have to be in that mix! Tulip One-Step Tie Dye is formulated to keep up with our busy lives and stay vibrant through multiple machine washings, so your tie-dye creations stand out with bold, beautiful color every time you rock them.
